The Rock Academy Students Serve Homeless Shelter

Students shared a day of service at ECTLC’s Center

EL CAJON, CA – East County Transitional Living Center was able to serve alongside students from the Rock Academy on November 9th.

Nearly 100 students from The Rock Academy grades seven through twelve arrived at ECTLC ready to work and serve. They took direction under Chuck Leslie, Head of Schools at The Rock Academy.

Several adult volunteers joined alongside students in spending most of the day at the center performing a variety of tasks. These tasks included sanding and painting doors and exterior fire extinguisher boxes and doing the above tasks for two rooms for families. They also washed windows, cleaned air conditioning boxes, cleaned and disinfected toys and playground equipment and helped in the kitchen!

After eating lunch, everyone attended a Bible Study, sitting with our disciples and providing ECTLC staff members with worship music. Students listened to testimonies by members of ECTLC’s program and a message by Pastor James Merino.

These students were a huge blessing to the Center and everyone they came in contact with. Thank you Rock Academy, from ECTLC!
