Klamath Falls OR – May 9, 2019 – As part of the ongoing support of local communities, Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 3:15 pm, Subaru of America, Inc. (“SOA”) and Klamath Falls Subaru will present a check to Friends of the Children of the Klamath Basin. Friends of the Children was selected by Klamath Falls Subaru as their Hometown charity choice for the annual Subaru Share the Love event. Friends of the Children, through the power of mentorship, addresses crucial societal challenges and drives greater equity, justice, and connection for the youth in our community who need it the most. By selecting children in kindergarten and staying with them through high school graduation – 12 ½ years, no matter what, Friends envision a world where the cycle of generational poverty and disadvantage are broken, and children are empowered to change their stories and create a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Over the last 11 years, through the Share the Love Event, Subaru of America and its retailers have donated more than $140 million to national charities and over 1,170 hometown charities. Klamath Falls Subaru had the opportunity to select a charity operating in their community to add to the list of organizations that new Subaru owners could select from to receive a $250 donation from SOA. From November 16, 2018, to January 2, 2019 customers who purchased or leased a new Subaru selected from a list of four National charities or the retailer’s Hometown charity to receive a donation of $250 from SOA. The National charities included, the ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, On Wheels America® and the National Park Foundation. Klamath Falls Subaru also opted to match a portion of the donation specifically for Friends of the Children.

The event will include after-school snacks and an activity for kids, and the check will be presented by representatives from SOA and Chris Bird, General Manager Klamath Falls Subaru on April 17, at 3:30 pm.
